ABOUT JAYCE K. THEDFORD
Jayce K. Thedford is a senior at Tarleton State University double majoring in electrical engineering and computer science and minoring in mathematics. In SGA, Thedford has served as the College of Science and Technology Congressperson where he has passed legislation to help benefit his engineering peers and now currently serves as the Student Body Vice President. Thedford has been responsible for co-founding three organizations on campus - the Tarleton Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Student Chapter (TSU IEEE), the Student Research Association (SRA), and the Tarleton Rocket Club - for which he has served as the President, Vice President, and Chair respectively. In addition to serving as the Chair for the recently established Tarleton Rocket Club, Thedford has participated in the NASA University Student Launch Initiative (USLI). Thedford's research currently involves designing a payload for this year's competition. As a First-Generation student and previous Senior Residential Leader on campus, Thedford has had the opportunity to mentor and support first year and fellow first-generation students as they start their journey at Tarleton. He has also engaged in STEM outreach initiatives, teaching the importance of programming through drone automation exercises. With an immense passion for space exploration technologies, Thedford hopes to enter the space industry upon graduation. Most importantly of all, he will always Bleed Purple!
